CHÂTEAU VIEUX DOUMAYNE

The delicacy of Saint-Emilion

Acquired by Pierre Janoueix, Pierre-Emmanuel's father, in 1972, this vineyard is located in the heart of Libourne, and is adjoining a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion. The soil of Château Vieux Doumayne is mainly sandy.

The production is rather confidential, we produce at most 4 500 bottles a year.

This wine is the object of all our attentions : soft fermentations and ageing 50 % new barrels, 50 % one-wine-old barrels, to keep elegance and fruit, without altering the wine by an excess of tannins.

This wine characterized by a deep ruby colour, a fruity nose and an elegant palate, will adapt perfectly to your roasted poultry, lamb and soft cheeses.

Consumption      To drink between 3 and 10 years after bottling. To serve at 16°C (60.8°F).
